What is Yoga?

Yoga, coming from the root word yuj in Sanskrit, literally means to “unite/connect/join.” This refers to the union with the Higher Self, or Unity Consciousness, through the alignment of the body, mind, and soul. 

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Sanjeev Karma

Sanjeev is a Certified Yoga Instructor, teaching with an emphasis on meditation to cultivate one’s intuition. He has been practicing meditation since 2003, further cultivating his practice through Vipassana meditation and living in a monastery with monks. He comes from a science background, co-authoring 2 peer-reviewed articles in biomedical journals, obtaining a B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, and working in the cardiovascular industry for 6 years.

Usha Rathee

Usha is a Certified Yoga Instructor who teaches a yoga style that focuses on opening the heart center. Her practice uses physical asanas to spur a deeper emotional and spiritual upliftment in her students’ lives. She firmly believes “A stronger mind makes a stronger body.” She has been practicing meditation for many years as a member of Self-Realization Fellowship, and has been leading their online meditations for the past year. She is also an entrepreneur, mother of two, an Ayurvedic cook, and a positive and enthusiastic person.

Jankei Shinde

Jankei is a Certified Yoga Instructor,  leading others through practice to feel the same joy, positivity, and clarity that she has received from yoga. She has experienced enormous benefits of connecting the mind with the body through her yoga practice, and wants to help others in achieving the same results. She has instructed yoga asana and pranayama classes at corporate offices and schools. She comes from a technical background, obtaining a B.S. and M.S. in Electronics.
